It was our first time staying at West Wind Island Resort. My husband, myself, and our elderly Jack Russell Terrier. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a bit firm for my liking but the room was clean and comfortable. We had a room facing the pool and the glass doors leading out to the patio did a great job of blocking out any noise from the pool and bar area. It was nice and quiet. The check in/ check out processes were easy and fast. The proximity to the beach s perfect. Beautiful clean beach. Although the restaurant on property was closed due to a fire, the food truck food was pretty tasty. The food truck is parked in the back parking lot. You order food from the pool bar and they walk to the food truck to pickup and deliver to you. All in all we were happy with our accommodations and the close proximity to the beach and to restaurants and shops. We would return.

We spent 6 nights here in November. The resort itself is older and could use a little paint and maybe some new furniture. But.....we had a wonderful time here. The one bedroom suite was spacious and clean and had all the amenities we needed. Housekeeping was on top of everything and the staff was friendly and pleasant. Even the maintenance men were awesome, especially Kevin who helped us with luggage on our rainy day arrival. The location on the beach was perfect as well as free use of kayaks and bikes. The pool, the pool bar and the live music at the end of the day made the sunsets even more perfect. To all of the staff, thanks for making our much needed vacation a memorable one.

* Room 115 …This is a hotel for a chill place and location. It’s dated but I find most places on the island is but have to say love the screened in patio that faces beach and pool area is awesome with chairs and hanging your wet bathing suits 👙 . I was surprised of the big fridge and full size stove plus microwave great if you plan on staying a week. The bathroom are so small and toilet handle had to jiggle to stop running and TV is small for the size and distance from bed. They do have nice grounds and access to beach and pool. The cleaning 🧼 staff sure makes the rooms smell great and clean. The pool was clean and nice touches like floating toys and noodles to use, shuffleboard and outdoor shower and foot rinse areas. Nice to have plenty of pool towels access areas and restroom but the towels are very rough and small but I’m sure if they were too nice then get stolen.

It’s located to the right of Tarpon Beach. Ask for an updated room. One thing I liked was the book shelf. It’s very quiet and peaceful. There’s no charge for kayaks or bikes or ridiculous fees. The staff was friendly and the lady who did our room service was very sweet. The body wash smells like cucumber & mint. The pool is open late and the drinks are reasonably priced. I cried when it was time to leave. I almost didn’t come because I didn’t want to be around pets; but I hardly saw any and the ones I did see were spoiled and polite. Book here today! Excellent prices.

Very nice location. Staff was terrific. Food was excellent & plenty of selections! Beautiful grounds. Clean & relaxing pool area. Only advice to management is that they should educate their guests on safety of our turtles. Many guests were digging holes on the beach & not covering them up when done.

I took a couple days off to travel to the beach with my dog Nama. West Wind Island Resort was just what I was looking for, nothing too fancy but with a cozy beachside vibe. The room was clean and had nice amenities. Kitchenette with sink, stove, microwave and fridge. Some dishes. I loved being on the first floor with a screened in porch for easily going in and out with the dog. I spent a lot of time reading there. It's an easy walk over the dune to the beach. There's a nice pool area and they have a bar for food and drinks with nightly live music in the early evening. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They kindly welcomed my pet with a little treat bag. There is a pet fee of $35 per night but that is reasonable compared to other places. The only thing I would like to see is a better poolside shower for cleaning myself and my pup after beach time. I would definitely stay again.
